Berea Still Considering Drilling

Jim Triner of Mayfield Village attended Monday’s work session prior to council’s special meeting. He said some communities study the drilling issue for more than a year. He said the city needed to consider the financial, health and safety and community aspects when discussing drilling ventures.

"If anything did go wrong, the litigation exposure is enormous," Kralovec said, envisioning a "very expensive and costly" lawsuits. "I am not in favor of drilling," Jardell agreed. "I don't think that any benefit we receive will outweigh the potential harm to the kids, the community and the neighbors."
