To mandatory pool, Gonzoil must go
before the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and explain why it is necessary
to pool the unwilling participants.
“I don’t think that’s (mandatory
pool) right, because Mr. Gonzalez sits on that board,” said Mayor Sam Alai. “I
think that’s a huge conflict of interest. I don’t think we should be mandatory

Seagull decided to move the
proposed gas well due to prior controversy from residents.
Mayfield Heights Police Det. Chris
Sonnhalter said a fraud case against Seagull is still under investigation.
Tugend said even though the investigation continues concerning Seagull
fraudulently signing signatures on a petition for a gas well in Mayfield Village,
there is nothing that would have stopped the company from applying with ODNR.

Oil well in Gates Mills leaks 1,000 gallons into Chagrin River tributary

Residents more than a mile away on Gates Mills Boulevard reported the leak.
"GATES MILLS, Ohio -- Crews spent the past two days cleaning up an estimated 1,000 gallons of oil that had leaked from a ruptured valve on a gas well at the intersection of Dorchester Road and Ohio 91.

Munroe Falls -- David Beck, president of Beck Energy in Ravenna, said he has everyone necessary on board to drill a natural gas well in Munroe Falls -- except for city officials.
Mayor Frank Larson said at the meeting that he is opposed to the location of the well because it is near the river.
