Broadview Heights at odds with Gonzoil drilling company

To mandatory pool, Gonzoil must go before the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and explain why it is necessary to pool the unwilling participants.

“I don’t think that’s (mandatory pool) right, because Mr. Gonzalez sits on that board,” said Mayor Sam Alai. “I think that’s a huge conflict of interest. I don’t think we should be mandatory pooled.”

Gas well location moves from Mayfield Village to Mayfield Heights

Seagull decided to move the proposed gas well due to prior controversy from residents.

Mayfield Heights Police Det. Chris Sonnhalter said a fraud case against Seagull is still under investigation. Tugend said even though the investigation continues concerning Seagull fraudulently signing signatures on a petition for a gas well in Mayfield Village, there is nothing that would have stopped the company from applying with ODNR.

Oil well in Gates Mills leaks 1,000 gallons into Chagrin River tributary

Residents more than a mile away on Gates Mills Boulevard reported the leak.

"GATES MILLS, Ohio -- Crews spent the past two days cleaning up an estimated 1,000 gallons of oil that had leaked from a ruptured valve on a gas well at the intersection of Dorchester Road and Ohio 91.

Oil from the well seeped into streams and storm water sewers that flow into the Chagrin River."

Oil well tank explodes in Carroll County

 Oil burns down a hill after an explosion at an oil well site near Dellroy Thursday night.
 

Jimmy Patrick, production supervisor for Range Resources, owners of the tank, said they suspect it may have been a buildup of static electricity on the 90 barrel tank. The tank was blown about 150 to 200 feet from the original site.

Munroe Falls -- David Beck, president of Beck Energy in Ravenna, said he has everyone necessary on board to drill a natural gas well in Munroe Falls -- except for city officials.

The decision – unless overturned on appeal – means that four property owners near the church will be forced to relinquish their mineral rights against their wills due to Ohio’s mandatory pooling laws.

At least four other property owners signed the lease, but are now against the drilling.
