Broadview Heights being mandatory pooled into two gas and oil wells

“The city has been mandatory pooled into two gas and oil wells after a hearing held on Tuesday. Alai said that the city plans on appealing and going to the Ohio Supreme Court if need be.”

According to the Broadview Heights Engineering Department, Gonzoil Oil was trying to bore a gas line and hit a water main on Broadview Road, causing the road to buckle.

Broadview Heights at odds with Gonzoil drilling company

To mandatory pool, Gonzoil must go before the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and explain why it is necessary to pool the unwilling participants.

“I don’t think that’s (mandatory pool) right, because Mr. Gonzalez sits on that board,” said Mayor Sam Alai. “I think that’s a huge conflict of interest. I don’t think we should be mandatory pooled.”
